Edwin Longueville Blue Heron Pottery

Edwin specializes in large decorative and functional bowls, vases, platters and more.
Every piece would make a beautiful addition to any home, to be treasured as an heirloom and appreciated as very special gift. Each hand-thrown piece is truly unique and always recognizable as created by an artist.

Edwin was born in Belgium and graduated from the Royal Arts Academy with an MA in Art History. He then continued his education in London UK, at the London Polytechnic where he studied photography. It was while he was the art teacher in an Australian high school that he apprenticed Pottery under a Japanese Master. Pottery has always been one of his great loves, and for 10 years he was the night school pottery instructor at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough Ontario. His love of teaching and pottery combined has made him a well respected member of the craft, and many local potters started their craft under his guidance.

Edwin now operates the Green Heron Pottery Studio and School in Cavan, a short drive from Peterborough. Located in the rolling hills of Cavan and part of the artist community of Bethany, the studio is well equipped and overlooks the hills, with lots of wildlife, and surrounded by a garden lovingly maintained by his wife Eileen.
